Finding Faith in Everyday Moments: The Gift of Waiting
Waiting is hard. Whether it’s waiting for a prayer to be answered, a door to open, or a season of life to change, the in-between can feel frustrating, uncertain, and even lonely. But what if waiting wasn’t a waste? What if it was a sacred space where God is shaping us?
God Works in the Waiting
We live in a world of instant gratification—quick results, fast decisions, immediate answers. But God doesn’t work on our timeline. Throughout Scripture, we see that waiting is not passive; it’s an active trust in God's perfect timing.
Abraham and Sarah waited 25 years for their promised son.
Joseph waited in prison before stepping into his destiny.
The Israelites wandered 40 years before reaching the Promised Land.
Even Jesus waited—30 years before His public ministry began.
Waiting is not about delay. It’s about development.
The Growth We Can’t See
Think about seeds again—planted deep in the soil, unseen, yet slowly taking root. While we see nothing on the surface, something is happening beneath.
Psalm 27:14 says, "Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!"
God uses waiting seasons to strengthen our faith, refine our character, and prepare us for what’s ahead. The waiting is not empty—it’s where He is working in us so He can work through us.
Waiting with Hope
If you find yourself in a season of waiting, take heart. Waiting is not a punishment; it’s an invitation to trust. Instead of focusing on what hasn’t happened yet, ask:
What is God teaching me in this season?
How can I grow closer to Him while I wait?
What small blessings can I see even now?
Waiting isn’t about when—it’s about Who. Trust that God is working, even when you don’t see it yet.
A Prayer for Today:
Lord, help me embrace this season of waiting with faith instead of frustration. Remind me that You are always working, even when I don’t see it. Give me patience, strength, and trust in Your perfect timing. Amen.
