God Is the Original 67’er

So apparently there’s this new thing kids are saying — “67.”
I kept hearing it around school drop-off and youth group —
“Bro, that’s so 67!” or “You’re not 67 enough.”

And I’ll be honest… I had no idea what they were talking about.
I actually Googled it. 😂

(Which, by the way, didn’t help much. Because as far as I can tell, no one really knows what it means.)

But as I sat there scrolling through theories and memes, I started thinking —
maybe they’re onto something.

Because if “67” means standing out, doing your own thing, or being different from the crowd —
then honestly? God is the original 67’er.

🌿 The God Who Did It First

Before there were influencers, hashtags, or anything trending,
God spoke — and creation answered.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” — Genesis 1:1

He didn’t copy anyone.
He invented everything.

He’s the first Artist, the first Storyteller, the first One to call something good.
He didn’t need likes or followers — just His Word.
And that same Word still shapes galaxies and hearts today.

🌸 The Trend That Never Fades

Jesus never chased trends; He rewrote them.

When the world wanted status,
He chose service.
When everyone craved comfort,
He carried a cross.

That’s not trendy — that’s timeless.

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.” — 1 Timothy 6:6-7

Everything else fades.
But the things of God? They last.

💫 When Words Lose Meaning, Truth Still Speaks

I read Matthew 6:7 the other day:

“When you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.”

Even there, Jesus reminds us — it’s not about performance; it’s about relationship.
He’s never been about noise — always about heart.
He doesn’t perform for attention; He loves with intention.

Now that’s a trend worth following.

The Real “67” Challenge

So maybe “67” doesn’t have to be nonsense.
Maybe it’s a reminder that we’re called to live set apart.

What if “67” meant:
💛 Choosing kindness when culture says compete.
💪 Living with purpose when everyone else is performing.
🙌 Following Jesus even when it’s not popular.

Trends fade fast — but truth never does.

🌻 The Original Trendsetter

God doesn’t go viral.
He goes eternal.

He’s been setting the standard since Genesis —
outshining every momentary trend with His timeless glory.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” — Hebrews 13:8

So yeah, I might not totally understand the latest teenage slang…
but I do know this:
when it comes to originality, creativity, and living set apart —
God is the real 67’er.

And if following Him makes me a little “different,”
then count me joyfully in. 🙌
