Sourdough Parmesan Twists (Crispy, Cheesy Joy) 🧀🥖

Why This Recipe?

These sourdough parmesan twists are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with cheesy, herby goodness. They’re perfect for snacking, soup-dipping, or party platters. And they’re ridiculously easy to make. If breadsticks had a cool, twisty cousin—this would be it.

🛠️ Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sourdough discard

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp dried Italian herbs

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

  • 1–2 tbsp water (only if needed)

⚡️ Instructions:

1️⃣ Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2️⃣ In a bowl, mix flour, salt, garlic powder, herbs, and parmesan. Add sourdough discard and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms. If it’s too dry, add a tablespoon of water at a time.

3️⃣ Roll the dough out into a rough rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.

4️⃣ Cut into long strips, then twist each one gently and place on the baking sheet.

5️⃣ Brush with a little olive oil and sprinkle more parmesan on top (because you can never have too much cheese).

6️⃣ Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden and crisp at the edges.

7️⃣ Let cool slightly and serve with your favorite dip—or just eat them straight off the tray.

🔥 Bonus Tips:

Make it spicy: Add chili flakes for a little heat.
Make ahead: These store beautifully in an airtight jar for up to 3 days.
Dip ideas: Marinara, ranch, or herbed olive oil.
