Living with Childlike Wonder

When was the last time you paused to watch the stars, marveled at the sound of rain, or simply enjoyed the beauty of a sunrise? As we grow older, the responsibilities and worries of life can dull our sense of wonder. But Jesus calls us to a childlike faith—one that is full of curiosity, awe, and trust.

"Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." – Matthew 18:3

To have a childlike heart doesn’t mean being naive; it means being open to seeing God’s beauty in the world around us.

The Gift of Seeing Like a Child

Children notice things we often overlook:

  • The way sunlight dances through the trees

  • The excitement of discovering something new

  • The simple joy of laughing and playing

They don’t rush past life—they experience it. And in their wonder, they remind us of the goodness of God.

How to Embrace Childlike Wonder

  1. Slow down – Take a moment to enjoy the simple things. Look at the sky, feel the breeze, listen to the sounds around you.

  2. Ask questions – Instead of assuming you have it all figured out, approach life with curiosity. Ask, "God, what are You showing me today?"

  3. Find joy in the little things – Whether it’s the taste of your favorite meal or the laughter of a loved one, celebrate the small gifts.

  4. Trust like a child – Kids don’t need to understand everything to feel safe. They simply trust. What if we trusted God the same way?

God Delights in Your Joy

Zephaniah 3:17 says, “The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you; in His love, He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

God loves when you delight in His creation, when you find joy in the life He’s given you. Wonder is a way of worship.

A Prayer for Today:

Lord, help me to see the world through fresh eyes. Give me a heart that notices Your beauty and embraces joy. Let me live with a childlike faith—full of trust, curiosity, and wonder. Amen.
